Stephen:
This sounds like something I noticed on the McAfee Security Center on my
laptop known as "W32/IRCbot.worm". My desktop, which I'm using now has
Norton AV and information on the removal of this bug is located here:
http://searchg.symantec.com/search?q=W32/IRCBot.worm&context=ent&src=ent&out
put=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&client=symc_en_US&proxystylesheet=symc_en_U
S&site=symc_en_US
Click on either of the two you will see listed and instructions will follow
in a popup window, so temporarily disable any popup controls you have
running.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
