I do not use dial up, but there is a setting in IE/tools/Internet
options/connections so that the computer would never use dial up. Will
not that setting stop the slave computer from trying to dial up. I would
wait till I was ready to go DSL to decide what router to get. Routers
are frequently being upgraded and what is best today may not be best a
few months from now.
