The problem with this setup is that the router not designed to work
with dial-up services. A router that supports an external dial-up
modem would have worked very nicely here (something like my old Dlink
DI-707). I think the optimal solution would be to disable the DHCP
server in the router and let ICS manage DHCP. This will limit the
router's functions to just be a switch, but that is all that is needed
until the two-way satellite is installed later. Once that is done,
then DHCP needs to be enabled on the router and ICS not used.

There is another way to configure this so that the router manages DHCP
and ICS uses a static IP address outside the range used by the router.
This gets complicated quickly trying to manage DNS and gateway
settings for a "second" gateway - the ICS machine.

Check the owner's manual or the dlink website (www.dlink.com) for
information on how to modify the router's settings. Keep in mind that
once DHCP is disabled on the router it may be difficult to get back in
to re-configure it later. When that time comes, use of the reset
button on the back of the router (if it exists) would be the easiest
way to restore that functionality.
