It depends upon whether you interpret what you are doing as 
"linking."  That is why it is a gray area.  If the FCC sees it that way, 
then the answer to your question is "no."

There was some talk about modifying this part of the rules to allow things 
like Kenwood's sky command, but nothing has been done so far.  I did note 
one other person's post pointing out that you aren't controlling the 
TS2000S, and so it is legal, and that may be true, but I'd probably want to 
check that out pretty thoroughly before doing so.
