Thanks again John.

Looks like the tm-v7a may not be made or something as I couldn't locate it on the HRO page. The only other similar transceiver I saw there was, I think, the
tm-v708 or something like that.

Oh ya, the TM-G707A has a long range of extended receive. Almost the hole
way from 118 MHz to well in to the 800 MHz band with a very minor mod but
even out of the box it's very broad.

Thanks John,

Does the tm-g707a receive out-of-band such as weather and the like?

I'm guessing you mean the TM-g707A and the TM-V7A, difference being, the
TM-V7A can listen on both bands at once and to cross band repeat and the
707A can't though it can scan like I have it setup and that's almost as good
and for my uses better. Cross band repeat would be nice now and then but I
don't need it. Also, the G707A speaks the PL tones and the V7A doesn't. Not
a huge deal usually so long as it beeps different at the lowest setting or
something.

Subject: tmg-7a and tmv-7a

Hi all,

What are the differences between the tmv-7a and the tmg-7a?

Is one an older radio? Looks like they are both very accessible judging by
a quick look at the manual on the Icanworkthisthing site.

Thanks,

Don W6SMB
