Hello,
I am wondering whether anyone on this list can point me to an article
which discusses in layman's terms the advantages and disadvantages of
the major rechargeable battery types including but not limited to
lithium ion, nickel metal hydride, nickel cadmium, jell cell and lead
acid.
I note that manufacturers of cell phones are increasingly going to
lithium ion batteries; yet my Victor classic plus daisy player uses
nickel cads. So I really want to learn the pros and cons of each type.
And, while we are at it, why do manufacturers like Freedom Scientific
and Humanware insist on using batteries which are not user replaceable.
I would hope there is some justification for this, not just because it
means a quick buck.Thanks.
