Wow - after lots of great replies, I finally have a summary ready to send.
I do have one or two calls/emails I am waiting to hear back from but most of
the information is ready so I decided to go ahead and "summarize". Will
follow up with everyone if new information is pertinent/inconsistent.

A warning that the following summary is detailed. Basically, I wanted a
list to print out and keep with me whenever I ordered a drink. So that is what
I made...and now you can have it too.

Let me know if I have misquoted anything. Also, please forgive spelling
errors - there are lots of liquors out there I never drink and I probably
butchered their names.

Here goes.....

Summary of responses regarding liquor and gluten:

For all liquors:
There seems to be some debate as to whether or not the distillation process
removes gluten. 5 responses said it did, 2 said it did not (and noted
physical responses to certain liquors).

However, according to one response, the Colombia University’s Celiac
Disease Research Center claims that distillation DOES remove gluten. Mireille (a
co-host) of the Delphi site agrees. Thus making pretty much everything ok
with the following exceptions: beer, malted drinks, flavorings, seasonings.

For those comfortable with the idea that distillation removes gluten, there
is no need to read further. For those wanting to be more cautious, see
details by liquor below.

***Note: I have placed a call to Colombia University to confirm this. I
will follow up with the listserv when/if I hear directly from them.
