Thanks John to you and David who also responded. I should clarify a couple
things. My old OS was XP Pro. MB on old machine died so I only have this
machine now to get those files off the HD's. This machine has sata setup 
with no IDE. I was lead to believe that the external enclosure had the IDE 
interface which would be transferred over usb 2.0 so that I could read the 
files and transfer them to my new HD.

Any help on this would be great.
