If there's a missprint somewhere and the motherboard is "ECS K7S5A
Pro", "Motherboard Monitor" will work with this board. Motherboard
Monitor is free software that runs inside Windows and monitors the
built in motherboard and processor sensors. (It will show the same
temperatures as the BIOS readings...but display them while Windows is
running.) For example, Motherboard Monitor (MBM) can be set to
continually show the temperatures as an icon in the tray (bottom right
of the screen, near the clock). It will also monitor key motherboard
voltages and fan speeds if you tell it to do so.
So to summarize, if you want to know what the temperature is while
Windows is running (no need to reboot and enter BIOS setup), MBM is
free Windows software that runs in the background and continually
monitors your computer's temperatures. It will create log files and can
sound an alarm if some value (temperature, voltage, speed, etc.) goes
outside of range (you can tell it how high or low). Or just tell it to
show the temperature in the tray and don't use all the other bells and
whistles.
You can find more information about Motherboard Monitor at the MBM home
page <http://mbm.livewiredev.com/>. You can download it from numerous
free software websites. (Links are given at the MBM home page.) Because
MBM works with so many (hundreds) of motherboards, it may seem a bit
complicated to setup properly...but we PCBUILD subscribers are here to
help.
