No, the SDRAM would not work.

Check out www.All4memory.com memory for that machine. It's still pretty
expensive. I just bought 2-128 mb sticks to accompany the 2 already there on
the exact machine you're describing. About $100.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Upgrading the Memory

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 thats about two years old and I would like to
upgrade the memory on it. It has RDRAM architecture, and the memory type is
PC800. I've been looking at alot of memory on various sites and I can only
find SDRAM in the amount that I want. I want to add 1GB of memory which
would be 2x 512mb cards because you have to install memory in pairs. So my
question is this, would 2x 512mb SDRAM work with my CPU? Also does the
memory type have to be the same as well? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
