When I got that message it turned out that SP2 had not fully installed. Run SP2 again and you should get all that security stuff on restart when its done. I just had to do a new install of XP Pro, and left out SP2. It boots faster and loads apps faster. For now I am going to skip it.
>This is a new install XP PRO with SP2.
>After installing I tried to shut off XP's firewall and got this message:
>"Due to an unidentifed problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall Settings." This was before I installed NetDefense Firewall, which has worked very well in XP. Both Firewalls have been running for a few days without any known problems. How can I shut off XP Firewall? Will the 2 continue to run at the same time without problems?
