Helen, must agree here. Also, if you could gently inquire of her what it is
about your house and ask her for tips to keep it better, she may just want
to be needed or helpful. Sometimes people have trouble expressing this need
so they sound harsh.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh, I don't mean it that way.  You asked
for prayer that you find peace and strength to handle whatever Todd's
relatives say or do.  I do pray that for you, but the second half of
your request causes me to wonder whether keeping your mouth shut is
the best way to handle it.  Even though I'm sure his parents mean
well, and are genuinely concerned for Todd and even for you, they may
need to know how you feel about what seems to you to be their
interference in your life.  Perhaps you could have a private talk
with his mom in a gentle and loving manner, and express to her your
feelings.  She probably has no idea she is upsetting you so much.
