Hi guys,
Thanks for praying. This morning, as we walked into the court building,
we were met by a man who introduced himself as chris's lawyer. He had not
met Chris yet and, we weren't sure how much we should talk to him, but, oh
well. Chris was advised, and we agreed, to plead, "no answer," to the five
charges brought up against him at this time. He was released to us on what
is called, "conditional release," which means, he skrews up and he goes
right back to jail. He is with Greg right now, getting situated back at
school. The first thing that he had to do when he got home was dismantle
and pack away a decorative sword display that he had down in his room
because he is not allowed to be in possession of any form of weapon. He
will be going back to court on July 12 to answer to the charges, which, by
the way, we are not dropping. Right now, he is to be watched very
carefully, while he begins counselling, or therapy, and the lawyer has a
chance to work with him on his case.
I don't know how I feel yet. To be truthful, the rest of us in the family
had a talk this morning about the possibility of chris coming home and
nobody was excited about it, not even Caleb. The only one really happy
about chris's release, at present, I believe, is Chris.
One interesting thing: the first place that Chris wanted to go before he
came home was to the church. He walked down to the front pew and sat
down. greg and I joined him, but noone said anything out loud, so I have
no clue what he was thinking, or praying. None of us are real sure of
ourselves right now.
That's the latest from Maine!
Kathy
