I do both, I run wiring off the battery to fuses, then in to the cab where
it terminates in Anderson power poles, and then I plug the radio in to that
power poles, and there's a fuse in each lead for the radio as well. I could
forgo them at the battery, but I like maximum protection. Overkill I'm sure,
but still, something breaks under that hood and cuts the wire or something,
not that it's likely as well as I run them, but if something strange ever
did happen, especially where with this car we can't get to with in a foot of
the firewall from under the hood, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
