I am guessing by power you mean rf into the unit?  I typically don't have rf
going into it when changing bands.

Press and hold the first and third buttons for just a second and it will say
"220" which is the band you are on now.  If you want to change to 440 press
and hold the first and third buttons until you hear a series of beeps and it
will say  "440" and you are now on the 440mhz setting.
