No the shorting plug is for the service menus, where probably only a
trained service tech aught to venture.
You have to open the radio and move a little switch which is on the
top right side, about 2.5 inches in from the front of the radio.
The odd thing is that the plug on the radio and the computer are the
same, so you need a double female to connect the cable.
I stand my radio up on it's side, so it only takes up three inches on
the desk, rather than eight inches.
