There are so many of us using Kenwood TMV7s, TMG7s, and the like, and
there seems to be a weakness to the mike over time that I thought
this might be of interest. The following appeared on the Kenwood
listserv. I ordered one of the mikes for my TMV7, but haven't tried
it yet. The sales person at R&L assured me that the mike was a replacement.
Hope this might help someone.

Hello to the group. I wanted to pass along a great deal I found on a
Kenwood MC-45DM DTMF Mic I found at R & L Electronics. These mics fit
older and new
Kenwood radios with the RJ-45 connector. They are discontinued now
but retailed for $79.99 new. R & L Electronics bought out the last of
them from Kenwood
and are closing them out at $19.99 plus shipping. I just got one for
$23.95 after shipping.
