It's not to hard to follow the conversations as long as the system doesn't
get real busy. You just have to keep your finger on that resume scan
button. It can be confusing when the system is busy and you catch little
bits of several conversations. But with a conventional scanner you can
listen in on the private calls, I don’t think you hear those with a true
trunk scanner?

I think that that system is digital, in which case he'll need a 96 or
something like that. Scanning conventionally is fine, but can be
frustrating when you want to follow a conversation when it jumps from
frequency to frequency.
