Another comment on astron supplies.  One thing I just thought of.  On any
of those supplies that used 2n3055 transisters as the astrons do, if they
went bad I'd replace them with a darlington, I used ecg, but forget the
number off hand, I can ask around though.  The thing about these
darlingtons is they almost never shorted when they went bad, they usually
opened.  I had much better luck with these.  I wish I had an accessable
sylvania book to look this stuff up.
I asked a ham friend what number they were and he said he thought he still
had a supply at home, so I'll let you know.
