I have same question, how to remove the name of the item from the msconfig Start Up LIST after disabling it by unchecking it? You can uncheck it, but some apps just recheck themselves if you don't remove the item from the list, or worse, leave the one you unchecked and put ANOTHER identical name there with a checkmark. How do you get these out of the list itself? I'm not wanting msconfig to remove anything, I'm wanting to remove an item from the msconfig StartUp list itself. Thanks, AnnaSummers

Carol,
Having seen no replies to your question, here goes;
Assuming by uninstalling, you don't mean deleted, some remnants of the programs were left behind.
msconfig does not remove anything, it only prevents unchecked items from being loaded.
You can download a free application named "Start Cop" (do a Google search for it) then disable unwanted apps until you see that no harm is done, then you can remove them completely.

I have uninstalled programs and yet they still continue to show up in the
Startup list,
even after I uncheck them. Is there a way to completely remove items from
Startup in MSconfig?
