that is pretty unbelievable that a modern day company would actually think
they could get away with putting something that is so obviously and truely
discriminatory on their products!
I mean, they dont even have those kinds of warnings on automobile owners
manuals!
And to think that they allowed their products to be sold for the visually
impaired specifically on a couple very obviously disability related
websites...anne moris enterprises as well as independant living
aids...surprised they would put a warning like that on their products, and
then let them be sold to the blind community through other sellers.
I mean, why else would they put speech capabilities into their product if
not to visually aid someone who is some how visually impaired? why spend
$300 almost on a meter when you can see perfectly fine and buy one for a
fraction of that cost and just put up with any inconvenience caused from
having to glance at the meter.
something certainly sounds a little fishy in this particular case.
I really think it would be interesting if, upon telling the company that you
were blind, they refused to sell you the meter...and if you got that in
writing it might prove to be enough to put the company out of business.
This person who told you that they didn't want to be responsible for
operation of these meters by blind persons, was he/she a supervisor or
department manager?
I wonder if upper management even is aware of the issue?
Never assume they are because much of the time someone else is in charge of
labelling and the owners manual and upper management doesn't always catch on
to these things as they should.
