Yes!!! Ofcourse, we know that this is Yaya Jammeh's Allah's World Bank. We also jolly well know that up to 2002/03 for instance, Taiwan gave about D400m to The Gambia. None in the AFPRC/APRC talked about that, until when Halifa Sallah forced them, through the power of the National Aessembly, to start to exhume the actual facts and figures on the government's open secret cheque-book relationship with Taiwan.
We also know that the millions that the dollar-hungry in the estwhile AFPRC have sliced away from the Gambian coffers and the insatiability of the money prowess of the dalasi-cannibals in the APRC might have as well been obtained from such "givings". This is therefore nothing extrar ordinary as the APRC has reduced The Gambia into a virtual beggar nation. In short, such giving and receiving should be a shame for the APRC, because of their utter failing.
In short, all true patriots know that this is nothing to glorify and brag about! Certainly, it is a "pleasant surprise" not for the Head and the Mind, but for the Wallet and the insatiable Account.

Patrick Chang, the Taiwanese ambassador to The Gambia, yesterday presented 10 brand new four-wheel drives (Land Rover), worth $400,000 to President Jammeh at State House.
According to the ambassadors, the vehicles are meant to help The Gambia Police Force to maintain peace and security in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Patrick Chang said: “It’s through the good efforts of the two heads of state that we see the realisation of this gesture to the men who are in charge of security in the country,’’ he said.
Chang affirmed that President Jammeh attaches great importance to the security of the country and reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to the development efforts of The Gambia.
President Jammeh described the donation as “a pleasant surprise”. “I have never been taken by such a pleasant surprise. I have always been vindicated by Taiwan in my decision to open up ties with them. Building relations between us and them is in the best interests of the country. Those who criticised the decision failed to realise that Taiwan was the first Asian country to recognise the Gambian sovereignty .
“It was a mistake for The Gamba to have abandoned Taiwan. If the relationship was maintained, we would have attained food self-sufficiency. When I became President I realised that we had betrayed a good friend and whom we had to go back. Today every Gambian has seen the assistance Taiwan has been giving to The Gambia,’’ he said.
After thanking the ambassador for the donation, Jammeh then addressed the beneficiary, the police force. He said: “The life span of the vehicles depends on how you handle these vehicles. There will be a weekly or monthly inspection of the vehicles. They are not private vehicles and must not be used for personal errands. Stations whose vehicles are well managed will be rewarded but the station that badly managed its vehicles will suffer for it.”
He noted that the availability of the cars will enhance the operations of the police force, noting that there cannot be development without security.
The Inspector-General of Police Ousman Sonko said the donation will consolidate the existing bilateral relations between the countries. “We the police sincerely appreciate the vehicles and we promise they will be handled with care, using handling methods and record keeping,” he said.
The permanent secretary at the department of state for the Interior, Yahya Sirreh Jallow delivered the vote of thanks, while Mam Sait Ceesay, chaired the ceremony.
