Rhonda,

It sounds like you have the overall right attitude to me.  Sandy and I have
had similar experiences many times, of course, and so have many others on
the list.  It is difficult to know what to do.  I have often discovered in
these cases that the person wishing to pray for me is more likely to want to
get the glory for a miracle than the Lord.  This can't always be true, of
course, but I personally have been in situations where I know this was true
based upon what I was told.  I know these folks mean well but it would be
nice if they would consider developing a friendship.  Often, you never hear
from them again so it is sadness, in a way, and maddening in other ways.
