breadfruit available in Berkeley, California

I was in my favorite store yesterday, Berkeley Bowl (dubbed a "produce
palace" by a jealous newspaper columnist from San Francisco, a city
with a
zillion coffee shops but few decent produce outlets :-)), and saw that
they now have fresh (not frozen) breadfruit at $2.59/pound. I thought
I would mention it on the list so others in the US will know that
they are available (but not necessarily in every market).

At present I don't know the origin of the fruit: South Florida
(possible
but seems unlikely), Hawaii (also a marginal growing area for
breadfruit
but more likely than Florida), or imported.
