Hi,
Try removing all PCI cards except the video card and see if you still get
the message (hopefully you don't). If not, replace them one by one until you
find the one that causes the message. Sometimes you can fix this by moving it
to another PCI slot. Another possibility is one of the onboard
peripherals...you should be able to turn those off in the BIOS settings to see if that fixes
it.

Greetings,
Trying to solve a problem with a friend's computer. She has an old Sony PCV
- E302DS minitower (circa 1997), 350 Mhz, 256 PC100 RAM,Phoenix BIOS
ver.6.0.2W. She has lost the Sony restore disc so I've been trying to fix her
computer (or part of the problem by reinstalling WIN ME Ver 4.90.3000. The
persistant message on startup is a Sony splash screen with the message at the
bottom that says:
ERROR Resouce conflict - PCI on Motherboard. Bus:00, Device 0D, Function: 00.
I tried replacing her old RAM with some newer memory I had on hand, but that
did nothing. I made sure that all the PCI cards were seated well and that
did nothing. Tried reinstalling Windows about ten times and it always froze
up around 64%. She's a poor graduate student and can't really afford to
invest in another computer right now. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Allen
