  Have you formatted the new drive yet?  What shows up under "My Computer"
are formatted partitions, not physical drives....

  If you have, you might try downloading the version of TweakUI for your OS.
 Amongst its useful features is a nice interface to something in the
registry which determines which partitions/drive letters are actually
visible -- perhaps the letter of your new drive is not enabled on that list.
 (All enabled is the default, so this is a long shot.)
