Yeh...the 570 says the same that if you have greater then 10 to 1, the
internal tuner will not tune the antenna...which would lead me to believe
that the tuner can tune from a 10 to 1 to a reasonable match of 3 to 1 or
less?
Is that right or am i missing something there?
I know it probably wouldn't tune from something as high as a 10 to 1 down to
a 1 to 1 match, but i think it says something about it being able to tune
down to at least a 3 to 1...which is where i think the confusion came from
regarding the 3 to 1 matching.
Its not that it wont tune anything higher then a 3 to 1, but more that it
wont tune below a 3 to 1 if the match is extremely high.
How else would i be able to tune a 20 metre inverted V half wave to work on
75/80 meters?
I am sure on 3.7 MHZ the natural match has to be greater then 3 to 1...and
the 570 is using the relay type tuning.
Again, correct me if i am wrong, that is just the way i understood it from
the manual.
