I played a little field day from home  running battery power and 25 watts.
I've only recently gotten interested in vhf.  Since my HF mini beam  will
load on 6, I got a kick out of working J3 on ssb and J6 on ssb and  cw on 6
meters.   Also worked 2 meter ssb to  Conn.  Not sure the distance  from
Philly, but only using  a small beam  in the attic of a  1 story house,  so
I was pretty happy.

Have fun when the  openings  pop up.  Steve kw3a
