is that not for semi-break in?
the ts570DG also uses the vox button as a semi-break in i think its refered
to as...and you can hear the noise of the receiver when you dont have that
function turned on..although you are right, the first couple times its a bit
tough to tell the difference between having it on and off untilyou get used
to the noise of the receiver along with the side tone and notice when it
isn't there as when in semi-break in mode.
