Dave:
If your currently running a video card AGP 2x you could upgrade it to AGP 4x but if your running a AGP 4x you can't run AGP 8x because your motherboard doesn't support it. You could upgrade that motherboard to one that does have an AGP 4x/8x,prices for motherboard start around fifty dollar to three hundred;if you decided to go for a new motherboard keep in mind that other parts may need to be upgraded as well, I recomend you check well; I recommend www.tigerdirect.com and www.newegg.com to check for price and spec on motherboard and video cards; also that following brand for motherboards ASUS,ABIT, INTEL and for video cards ATI or GEFORCE both with 128 MB; well I hope this help you.
Sincerely
Antonio Figueroa
I am planning to upgrade my son's video card. His system currently supports AGP 2x/4x. All the higher memory cards are AGP 4x/8x. Will I be able to install one of these cards in his AGP slot?
Thanks
