Hi, I have a few questions about setting up a home network please.
I'm a homeschool mom and my children do 'school' with a computer
curriculum.
Setup: Mom - desktop - Windows XP pro - Server
1 kid - laptop - Windows XP pro - client
2 kid - laptop - Windows XP home - client
3 kid - desktop - Windows Xp home - client
All computers are updated with service pack 2
SOS 2.0 2004 addition
Network - hard wired with a D-link DSH-5 hub
I'm not understanding how to get their computers to access the internet
through my computer. In network places, on their computers, it shows
my active conection but internet explorer can not find it to log on.
Any ideas on how to make it see the connection?
If we are all 'wired' together, is it still possible for them to remove
their computers from the network and then replug them when they get
home? Will everything still work?
Also, I run ad-aware, spybot, zone alarm, and norton on my computer,
none of this is on their computer, do I need to install these since they
access the internet through my computer?
Any and all help is appreciated.
