And just a point, I find the T90A is less prone to intermod and all then
the Kenwood though I know the older then mine Icom T90A's were bad with that
but Icom fixed that, just a note of interest to some. Also, check your
settings, I find my battery life to be about the same on both radios if
used, how ever, shelf life, the Icom will die much faster then the Kenwood
for some reason, in the winter I can go for months with out using an HT, and
with both radios fully charged, just in case, I'll put them away, after a
couple months, the Icom is dead, won't even run the radio where as the
Kenwood after the same time sitting with a battery at the same state or
charge full, the Kenwood can actually still go for hours on end. I did an
event late last winter and was concerned when the battery in the icom was
dead, but the Kenwood got me to the event, through it, back home again, and
I was curious so I kept using it and it ran for quite a while after that,
but on vacation I used both of them constantly and when used, they seem to
have the same battery life though the Icom does drop to 3.5 watts after the
first hour or so of use and stay there where as the Kenwood starts out about
5.5 and only drops to 5 watts and stays there pretty much until it dies
completely and this has been checked now on my radios and all my friends in
the area that have 1 or both and all did exactly the same thing so the
Kenwood on the outer fringes of a repeater, does have the extra punch.
