When I took my Tec test I also did the code test. When I was ready to start the
head VE told me that if I wanted he would send the letters one at a time and let
me tell him what they were before he sent another. I appreciated the fact that
he was trying to do me a service but have since explained to him that
accomodation does not mean there is a need to be excessive or to let people out
of the test. A VE can pretty much do anything to accomodate but the unfortunate
part of it is that few of them have any real experience with handicapped people
and are often taken advantage of. I suppose as a blind person I tend to be less
accomodating than most folks for disabled folks, especially if I think someone's
trying to work the system.
