Butch,
To me, the 200-watt unit makes sense only if you run it mobile all
the time. I had the same thoughts about the tuner, although I almost
never use it because I've found that my Icom ATS500 works much better
than the 480's internal tuner. In fact, there are some bands where I
can't even tune up with the internal tuner, but the external tuner
brings the SWR right down to 1/1.
