When configured as a display, rather than as a counter, it only announces
the 100, 10, and 1 KC digits.

So, the 40 meter frequency 7.257 would be sent as 257.

This is okay most of the time since most of us can remember which band we
are using.

The one which I have wired in the display mode takes its signal from the vfo
output of my 30 meter qrp rig.

I suspect that could also be done with a radio such as the ft101, which does
have a connection for use with an external display.

If you send e-mail to Dave Benson via the link on the Small Wonder Labs
website, he can tell you if this has ever been done. He usually answers
promptly.
