Hi,

I own a ts2000, a IC706 mark2 and an IC703. Though I love the 706 and the
portable 703, the 2000 blows the 706 receiver and transmitter away. I am
thinking about selling the 706 because I can use the 703 as my backup rig by
running the rig through my als600 amp. I love my ts2000 and though I can't
compare it with the 756 or 746 series, I am very satisfied with the overall
performance of the 2000! Its been the best receiver that I have ever owned,
my only complaint is that the dsb noise reduction circuit could be better.

I can't speak much about the 706-Mark2G, however the receive in the ts2k is
very adequate. Now if you asked me to compare the ts2k and the icom 746
Pro, I'd have to tell you that I think the 746-pro has a much better
receiver because of more possibilities with regard to to digital filtering,
and many more options as far as that is concerned. You can't do much, even
with the software available for the 746-pro like get in too and change the
menu's, not all of them anyway, so in that regard, the ts2k wins with regard
to accessability, however if you're willing to live with the lack of access
for the 746-pro, if I were to do it again, I'd probably get another one.
