Does the side you want to mute sit on a freq which has a machine which decodes PL?

Subject: TMV7A question continued

Paul and others:

I'm not sure Paul's suggestion totally solves my
problem.

I can mute the side I don't want to hear by going to it and then pressing
the function button, but then have to manually switch it back to both bands
when I am done transmitting.

I was hoping that there was a way to configure the TMV7A so that the side
you don't want to hear when transmitting is automatically muted when you
transmit, and comes back on when you un-key.
Again, you can do this with the THF6A, but that rig only has one volume
control, so the automatic muting of the other VFO when transmitting may be
built right into the circuitry.

Hope this makes more sense, and thanks to Paul and everyone else for giving
this some thought for me.
