I don't see what the complaints are against the 2000. I compared both of
them, that is the 2000, Icom 746 pro and even played with a 756 pro 2,
although that was way out of my price class. I really didn't see that
much difference. I thought the d s p was a tiny bit better on the 746, but
not that much. If I'd thought it was that much better, that is what I
would have picked. I think Kenwood deserves high marks for making their
radios accessible. I've owned a lot of radios since I got my general back
in 1968, and pretty much prefer Kenwood. I think they've all kind of gone
down hill on uhf and vhf radios, but that is another subject. Even many
commercial radios now use the quadrature detecter instead of a real
discriminator, but as I said, that is something else...
I love my 2000.
