Hi Fred,

Yes, by running the amplifier relay cable through the p-2000 the amp will
not stay keyed up if the SWR exceeds the value you have the p-2000 set for
for the SWR alarm. The p-2000 has a built-in relay that opens when the SWR
alarm value has been exceeded and you get the audible SWR alarm sound. HTH

Gary

Guys using the P-2000 meter,
I would like to know if you run the amplifier relay jumper direct from
radio to
amplifier or do you run the relay jumper from radio to P-2000 then to
amplifier. I have always run the relay jumper through the P-2000 and I would
like to know if it gives some added protection this way. I never was sure
about this and would like to hear your thoughts an suggestions. Thanks much

Best wishes,
