Howard,

I agree with you.  If you get the 200-watt version of the radio, which is
intended more for mobile use, you also get a bracket to attach the control
panel to the radio.  Truthfully, though, I think I'd still keep the two
units separate, hiding the radio in some out-of-the-way place.
