Don:

Its a bit long in the tooth now, but if you can find a sony 2010 get
it.  It has 32 presets, synchronous am, shortwave, and air coverage.
Good sensitivity, and decent sound.
ssb reception is very good as well, and no bfo to tune.
My only complaint is that it tunes in 100 hz steps, and that's sometimes
not quite enough to dial them in perfectly.
THe clock an dtimeres are unusable without sight, but the presets are very
easy.
THe sync works well, but does introduce a bit of noise.  Sometimes when I
want sync-like performance, I'll listen on one of the sidebands. THis also
works pretty well, but mufles the sound a bit on music.

Coverage is 150 khz to 30 mhz, 76 to 108 mhz, and 118 to 136 mhz.
Good performer on all bands.  I won't give mine up.

I hope to have the manual scanned and cleaned up soon.
