A friend of mine Chris Sweeny told me about a ham friend of his that was
find 5000 dollars for running over 4000 watts on 80 meters. He wouldn't
reveal to me the friend's call sign accept I know who he is. He used to hang
out on 27555 upperside the international call frequency on 11 meters. Both
these guys are from Arizona and for the most parts, they're big mouths and
sort of trouble makers. That is they have no regard for whom they might step
on or interfere with, so in my book that makes them assholes. Then there's
Glen Baxter which I'm sure some are familiar with. Mr. k1man in Main who's
licensed isn't even listed anymore on qrz because of his on air antics. He's
not well liked on 20 meters because of his wanna be talk show tactics and
long winded one way transmissions. His arguments to the Fcc is simply: "well
w1aw is a one way transmission outfit so what's wrong with mine?" I also
read somewhere else they nabbed a guy that was terrorizing 40 meters and he
was find 12000 for jamming nets accept he took it further. He was harassing
people by phoning them and emailing them and making lude comments to any
females he heard on the air. also something I recently posted, the previous
owner or owners since they've kept switching, the 435 repeater in La: w6nut
has lost his licensed due to his operating procedure not in the interest of
the ham community. Aside from that I heard he wouldn't forfeit some other
callsigns he had which were supposedly club callsigns. Besides that repeater
frequency has gone straight to hell with all the swearing, the jamming,
making noises, not identifying, and just general hell raising. My cousin in
California calls me and often plays me 435. Thank god it's in la. Everytime
that repeater is taken off the air, they get another owner and they're ok
for a time. The last thing I'll recall for you: I don't remember this guy's
call-all though it was mentioned on a net where I got this info. This former
cb operator in k7 land-so I guess that's Oregon or Washington, was busted
for running an illegal amplifier and basically terrizing his neibors. All
though he was well behaved on the air. He is now being find 100000 dollars
by the Fcc and he disputed the find by getting his technician license and
becoming a ham. However his becoming an amateur doesn't change his few years
of illegal activity on cb so he still has to pay that find. He says he
doesn't even have a thousand to pay for his cancer treatments and his dying
wife's medical bills, let alone 100000 dollars for cb stuff. Well he's
loosing the fight with the fcc and he's gonna pay up or someone's knocking
out teeth for it. So the Fcc-all though I don't agree with everything they
stand for, it might be a good idea to be on their good side. Noone likes
being drained.

Does anyone know for sure about any ham who has ever bin fined or jailed =
by the FCC? I said before that I think that the FCC is a toothless =
paper tiger and no one commented on my remark. What goes on here in =
southern California is truly a joke and I'm wondering if the same is =
true around the country. I have heard about all of their fancy locating =
equipment and how they have so much power but I frankly don't think they =
give a d...m about ham radio frequency activities and that there is no =
real way to stop monsters like we have here. If I'm wrong or if other =
areas of the country are having better results with getting the FCC to =
rid the bands of ham radio terrorist I would like to hear about it. =
Many and I do mean many clubs and individuals have submitted written =
complaints to the FCC and for years now he just keeps thumbing his nose =
at any attempt to stop him. "Ignore him and he will eventually go =
away" is the way that everyone is treating the problem here now but that =
just isn't right. That makes about as much sense as "ignore the cereal =
killer and he will eventually get tired of it and quit".
