Yes, it needs to be a dual band ht, but it also needs to have a built in
tnc and have transport and commander selections on the menu and it must
run in ful duplex mode.  I hae the th-d7a, think that is the right number.
It will also work with the 700 mobile.
The 2000 has the transport built in, other radios do not, so you'd need
two hts.
