I'd say with a Kenwood you'd be golden, Icom, I don't have that much
experience with them though may try one some day just to see, I've had 2
706's and I must say, for a newbie, not a good idea but for some one who's
been in the hobby for a few years, it's not hard it's just a case of
understanding the radio. When I go on vacation in August, that's all I'll
have for 2 hole weeks, that might change my opinion but I don't think so
though a decent accessible software package for programming memories would
be nice if you like me, want to put 2 meter and 440 stuff in the memories.

I have owned the TS-570 and the TS-2000 and I had no real problem with
either one of them.

I have heard mixed reviews about ICOM radios and Yaesu it just about at the
bottom of the barrel.

And, Alinco is virtually non-existent.
