IN regard to the k2. I do not find the sound tinny at all. It can be a
bit pinched if the filters are not adjusted correctly.
As for being single conversion, this gives the receiver excelent noise
figures, and the best selectivity I have ever used.

It is a bit pricy, however, if you take its specs into account, it is less
than most rigs in its class.

For further reading, go to www.elecraft.com and check out the comparison
section.
These figures are nearly all taken from arrl test reports published in
qst. You will find that the k2 compares favorably with "contesting" rigs
at twice the price.
Also, no other manufacturer has committed to access as has Elecraft. Wayne
Burdick, (cofounder) has publicly stated that all future elecraft radios
will have at least cw feedback included. THis started with the kx1, and I
fully expect them to stand by this statement.

Yes, I would like to have general coverage receive, but not at the
sacrifice of receiver performance.

Maybe if we all contact Elecraft, we could convince them to build a general
coverage receiver with complete accessibility and excelent specs.

Finally, the built in tuner is excelent. I really believe it might load a
wet piece of string; hi hi.

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask myself, Buddy, or John Glass.
Hope this helps.

73 to all.
