I got the backpack for the 703 but not everything fits so I don't know what
I'll do, I have an old backpack from school that I never used so maybe I'll
use the 703 backpack to protect the 706 and manage to get everything else in
that other backpack, I don't want the radio getting all banged up though I'm
sure a couple scratches are inevitable but. Which 706 do you have? I think
the MKIIG gets a little hot for a field day. I might make mine available to
the club I belong to for field day if I know it can take it. I can see times
when the QSY'er is good but I don't find it as an absolute need, mainly it's
easier to enter the frequency then to tune to the frequency but tuning
around is not a huge deal for me. I'm still trying to decide on an antenna
for portable use but I'm thinking a smaller dipole might be the way I'll go.
