I'm using a regular crimper, only problem with that is it flattens them out
and the contacts don't fit in the holders very well, but what you do is,
when you get them crimped down as tight as you can get and it's flat, you
then go and crimp again the long way, if you know what I mean, and it roles
back on itself and fits perfect and now I found the trick to getting the
contacts in the holder, a small screwdriver works perfect or needle nosed
pliers, I now have everything on them and the last 2 or 3 of them were very
easy for me. You can get a special crimper for them if you want, but my way
works for me so far and I'll stick with it for now because the crimpers I've
seen for them are a lot more then I paid for either of mine. It really is
the way to go, that's why I switched over to them, 1 for the ease of use,
and 2 because as a RACES operator in this area, that is the standard and
though we don't have to it has been suggested that we all switch to them at
home and most have a long time ago, and with the rig runner form west
mountain radio like I have, my scanner runs on it now and TNC and for the
first time ever they're fused. I think that's actually safer then the wall
wart plug.
