HI Lou. I have a DX390 and it has a blown front end, on the HF band. It
seems that the front end transistor is very sensitive to static
electrisity, as I got it fixed once, and a week later, it went out again.
I never had that problem with the DX440, which I quite liked. I can't
see paying $42 plus, for labor to install a $2 part, so the 390 has
remained a deaf receaver on the HF bands, but still works well on FM
broadcast. I use it as a monitor reciever on HF, which it does quite
well at, and it is handy as a frequency standard, with the keypad entry.
I call it my DX390 monitor reciever! GRIN! I wonder if anyone has come
up with a mod to fix that problem?

John
