What I would like to know is how anyone in Pennsylvania can do anything
affecting distribution and use of information from NWS, which is a federal
agency.

Subject: Save the national weather Service petition
Hi, all.
As some of you may know, there's an effort afoot in Pennsylvania to limit
peoples' access to National Weather Service information, and to make that
information available only to private weather forecasting organizations for
a fee. Personally, I don't think the legislation stands a chance, but it
might be worth signing the petition at the link below if anyone feels
inclined to do so. I think my petition signiture went through ok, although
registering that signiture seems a bit difficult with Jaws. The petition
form itself, though, was quite easy to fill out.
Go to:
http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/SaveTheNWS/
for the actual petition. Please be careful with case sensitive letters in
the address.
