That antenna will rust long before lightening even takes notice.  lightning
takes the shortest path to ground.  That's the houses and neighboring
trees.  Sure it is theoretically possible, but you'll have lots bigger
problems than a radio if lightening decides to take a seat on your back
porch.  Like fire!!!
